NIO Stock is on FIRE!!! – Now What? | My Insurances Info

Finance is a field that is concerned with the allocation (investment) of assets and liabilities over space and time, often under conditions of risk or uncertainty. Finance can also be defined as the science of money management. Market participants in the market aim to price assets based on their risk level, fundamental value, and their expected rate of return. Finance can be broken into three sub-categories: public finance, corporate finance and personal finance.

Public finance describes finance as related to sovereign states and sub-national entities (states/provinces, counties, municipalities, etc.) and related public entities (e.g. school districts) or agencies. It usually encompasses a long-term strategic perspective regarding investment decisions that affect public entities. These long-term strategic periods usually encompass five or more years. Public finance is primarily concerned with:

Identification of required expenditure of a public sector entity
Source(s) of that entity’s revenue
The budgeting process
Debt issuance (municipal bonds) for public works projects

Central banks, such as the Federal Reserve System banks in the United States and Bank of England in the United Kingdom, are strong players in public finance, acting as lenders of last resort as well as strong influences on monetary and credit conditions in the economy.

  1. Let me know if you'd like see a full review of their upcoming earnings!
Also, it looks like TESLA is now offering the highly anticipated 35 thousand dollar Model 3. Pretty interesting, I may need to do an update video on TESLA stock as well. I don't think the cheaper model 3 will be available in China until 3 to 6 months though (if true, based off an article I read) but NIO still doesn't have a sedan out, so i'm not sure it's a fair comparison yet. Hopefully NIO announces their sedan soon, sometime this year, and it's at a pretty low price point.
Have a great weekend everyone! 🙂

  2. Ale or anyone. How would you evaluate these sort of growing companies? The obvious pe, peg, eps, ratios are not good as these companies are still losing money. I was thinking that the ps, sps, ratios would be better metrics since they tend to show increase in revenue without accounting for the investing loses. I'm new to investing, and I'd appreciate the input.

  3. Hi Ale, always been a big fan! If you recall, I purchased a considerable position in NIO soon after IPO and watched closely waiting for some impact from the ES6 (just beginning). However, with major competition increasing, and the threat of tariffs being lifted and Tesla becoming more competitive; along with concern of some sell off by major shareholders after the Lockout Date, I decided to sell 75% of my position one day BEFORE 60 Minutes and the gap up!!! Darn! The only saving grace is I put it all in IQ which also gaped up. Keep up the good work!

  4. Ale how do you feel about the risks with Chinese stocks? The strange rules by the Chinese government regarding foreign investment concern me a little bit but not enough to stop me missing out on opportunities. Just wondered how you feel about it?

  5. Hey Ale, another very informative video, I’m think of doing videos similar to yours but on different stocks. What video editing software do you use? Thanks again for another well researched presentation!

  6. People be carefull with NIO.

NIO has a little more than $1 billion in cash, however it is burning through something like $300 million of that stockpile with each successive quarter. Do the math, and you’ll see that Nio will need more money. The IPO gave it some funds, but they’ll need plenty more. Remember that Nio doesn’t do their own manufacturing at this point, instead it contracts out. Presumably, assuming they keep ramping up, they’ll eventually need to build out their own factories, which will require yet more capital.

The stock lock-up(insder able to start selling their shares) from the initial IPO expires March 11. That will be one catalyst that should lead to this rally breaking down. Nio’s market cap is already closing in on $8 billion for a company. That’s a huge number for a company with such a small sales base that is losing tons of money.

  7. 👍excellent review. As Always.👍… If the stock pulls back I will hold my shares and buy long dated call options. I been rolling Aug 2019 $7 and $8 strike to the Jan 2020 $10 strike and Jan 2021 $10 strike and adding more call options. ☺

  8. Yes, you're right it's a little ridiculous to compare Nio to Tesla. However, you can compare the initial struggles Telsa has gone through which Nio will experience too. China is a big market with a goal to convert all vehicles to EV so this will be a profitable market for more than Telsa. I am an Elon Musk fan but Telsa will not sell everyone an EV. Nio is not only selling EVs but a lifestyle like the luxury car markets. Some customers will enjoy being apart of something other than just spending their money. This method will also create customer loyalty which will keep customers coming back, if the product is good. Nio will pull back but I don't think it will be much. I believe Nio will become a huge company down the road; therefore, I am long on Nio. I know gaining a few thousands can make a person get happy feet but the reward will be great after a long ride. Thanks for the video.

  9. Great information my friend I thank you for what you do and what you do is very informative to me and many others think I speak for everyone who's seen this thanks
My Kaplan investing right now it's at $5 do you know any other stocks That we can purchase Under $5 and it can increase our portfolio?

  10. I moved out of most of my position in nio this week. With low sales in January and the lock up expiringg on the 11th, I'm expecting the price to drop and to take my 30% profits from my prior holding and buy even more nio for a long term investment.
